Riding, hacking, jumping, loss of confidence, horse behaviour, tack choice and fitting, day to day management of your horse or pony, navigating the mind boggling world of horse feeds. It is a lot, and there is a lot of contradictory information and advice out there.

Every owner or rider needs advice, guidance and support at times.

My USP beside my academic qualifications is a lifetime in the equine industry and a desire to do the best by every horse or pony that I encounter.

My Smart Stable series of mini eBook guides are available on the Shop page of this website. They are fact filled guides designed to be read on a phone, iPad or laptop in sections for advice and guidance. There are my top tips in them too!

About me

I am a freelance coach and a British Horse Society Accredited Professional Coach (BHS APC).

I have a BSc in Equine Science, a FdSc in Equitation, training and behaviour and an Award in Education and Training (AET). I regularly contributed to Horse and Rider magazine's "Ask the Expert" section and compete in British Dressage and showjumping with my homebred horse. With over forty years in the equestrian industry, I have worked across a wide variety of yards and roles - from running my own livery yard to grooming at three-day events, working in a veterinary surgery, and teaching at an equine college. These experiences have given me a deep and practical understanding of real-world horsemanship.

Through my coaching and mini eBooks, I'm delighted to share both the hard-won lessons and the solid, evidence-based knowledge I've gained from working alongside some of the best horsemen and horsewomen in the field.

Most importantly, my coaching and my eBooks are written with gratitude and love for all the horses I've had the privilege and good fortune to care for over the years. My hope is to help, support, and encourage anyone who wishes to deepen their understanding of horses and to keep learning with an open mind and kind heart.

We owe it to our horses and ponies to be the best we possibly can be.

Smart stable - Hacking - a guide.
£5.00

The best (and most fun) way to encourage a horse to walk out happily and willingly is to ride out with others. Lovely country lanes, along the edges of fields or along tracks would be perfect. Hacking helps ease stiffness, create bone density, mental stimulation, fitness and makes an independent horse.
